An ascension is a rising up. You can ascend a mountain when you’re on a hike. You can ascend into the clouds when you’re on an airplane. You can ascend the floors of a building when you’re on an elevator. You can also ascend to a new place – or a new position – when you’re changed, dramatically.
This week, we celebrate the Ascension of Jesus, forty days after Easter. So we’re thinking of ascending and rising and flying songs. This is one that Henry requested.
We recorded this right before we all started staying-at-home. We thought we had deleted the video because we were just goofing around and none of us sang very well. But now it seems precious because we miss being together. Boykin and Greg haven’t been this physically close to Jones in more than two months. Things have changed dramatically.
