It’s hard to keep track of time now. School days and Saturdays feel a lot alike. Special family days like birthdays and graduations probably aren’t celebrated the way you expected. Even the weather has been confusing! One day we need a sweater and the next day is blazing hot!
The church calendar can help us find a rhythm in our days. Do you remember the seasons of the church calendar? Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, Pentecost and Ordinary Time (which we sometimes call the “Green, Growing Season”) help us travel through the Christian story, year after year.
We are in the season of Easter, preparing for the day of the Ascension. The Ascension is always forty days after Easter Day and it’s when Jesus tells his friends he must leave them again but not to worry because he’ll always be with them. If you’re feeling confused these days, think how Jesus’ friends must have felt!
