Back in August, we celebrated a strange back-to-school with a song by the band the White Stripes. Now we’re doing it again. Some kids are returning to in-person classroom learning. Some are continuing to learn remotely. However you’re “doing” school, you’re doing a good job! You are creative and kind!

Happy Easter! Happy Back-to-School to those returning to in-person learning and those continuing with remote instruction. Whew! There’s a lot going on. Which is why you probably don’t need daily posts here anymore. We’ll keep posting Children’s Chapel every Sunday plus some bonus videos during the week. But we’ll stop posting every day. Faith-at-Home is like breathing now. It always was.

But we do want to share some pictures from Holy Week and Easter. Where did you see Jesus? How did you celebrate New Life? Where will you see Resurrection in the days ahead?

Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! The Rev. Elizabeth Marie Melchionna shares a Godly Play story today and we all shout the word we’ve let rest for forty days. Alleluia, He is Risen!

Our Youth Minister, Mike Peterson, talks about what it feels like when you think you’ve lost something – or when you feel lost yourself.

Today is Good Friday, the day Jesus was condemned by Pontius Pilate (who then washed his hands of the matter) to pick up the cross and carry it to the Crucifixion. Some Christians recognize the hard, broken road Jesus walked by observing the Stations of the Cross. You can do this in the natural world, looking for trees and rocks and places to rest that remind you of the Way to the Cross. But it’s not really the way to the Cross. It’s the way of the Cross. It’s the way past the Cross to the Resurrection and everlasting love.

This is the day of the Last Supper – the day Jesus washed his friends’ feet and shared a meal and told the disciples to love one another. The Porters show us how we can remember that day.

Today is the day we remember Judas. Jeremiah Murphy talks about choices, paths and asking friends for help.

The Fiores show us that seeds that seem to die can produce much fruit.

During Holy Week, we remember some of the last earthly days of Jesus’ life. On Monday, we remember Mary of Bethany washing Jesus’ feet, anointing them with expensive perfume and drying them with her hair. The Fiores tell the story and imagine drying other things – like dishes! – with long hair.

Today begins the most sacred week of the Christian calendar, Holy Week. In Children’s Chapel, the Rev. Mary Cat Young introduces us to Palm Sunday, the day Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a young donkey while the people sang, “Hosanna!”
