Look for the Holy

This week, let’s look for the Holy – the quiet moments, the joyful surprises, the gestures of kindness and the beauty of creation.

I love birds’ nests (but I never disturb them unless they’ve been abandoned or fallen from a tree). Last year, Greg found a hummingbird’s nest on the ground. It is so small but so carefully constructed. It’s made of twigs and lichen (which looks a little like moss) and spider silk. The spider silk is the glue that holds it together. How amazing is that?

What amazing things will you see? What holy moments will you meet?

Parents, there will be a “holy happy hour” this Wednesday, May 13, at 8:00 PM in conjunction with the Parents Book Club. The Book Club has been reading Rob Bell’s Drops Like Stars but you’re invited to the Zoom gathering even if you have not read the book. If you have ever met unexpected disruptions and hardships, you’ll be able to contribute to the discussion. Contact Lindsay Porter at lindsay.baldwin.porter@gmail.com for more information.
