The third Sunday in Advent is sometimes called Gaudete or Joy Sunday. Melinda Van Niel will explain why when she lights the pink candle on her family’s Advent wreath, sings the Magnificat and adds Mary to the crèche.
The Magnificat can be read or sung on the third or fourth Sunday in Advent and in “big church” at the Chapel of the Cross, we’ll hear it next week. In the tradition of little children leading, we’ll be a week ahead of the rest of the congregation.
