For Goodness Snake

We call this season of the church year the “Green, Growing Season.” We also call it “Ordinary Time.” That doesn’t mean it’s boring! (For instance, we found a snake in our house yesterday. That was pretty exciting.) We call the Green, Growing Season “Ordinary Time” because we’re counting the weeks in order, by ordinals. We’re growing as we count the time between Pentecost and Advent.

The snake we found was a friendly Dekay’s Brown Snake (Storeria dekayi). It eats bugs and slugs. Greg gently caught it and put it an aquarium. But he did not secure the aquarium lid and so now … well, we might have more excitement ahead.
