Zan reminded us that he made an instrument when he was a kid. In fact, he and his friend Harrison (another Children’s Chapel alumnus) made a whole band’s worth of instruments when they were in sixth grade. It was for a science project – and they rocked it.
Zan’s 3-string fretless* guitar was made with a cigar box and a hockey stick. He added a pick-up so he could connect to an amplifier. When an amplifier is connected, it becomes part of the instrument. That’s when things get loud!
What amplifies you? What gives you energy during these days at home? Is it music? Walks in nature? Prayer? Maybe it’s doing something kind for someone else.
*Frets are the raised pieces on a guitar that separate the neck into segments. Harrison is playing a mallet percussion instrument.
